I just installed an Alpine HU. I just noticed that the dash lights for the heater controls don't light up anymore... Is this connected to the DSC? I have not yet connected those up yet with a control unit. (Low on funds)

Anyone with some idea of whats going on? My dash lights don't work anymore. This happened right after I replaced the HU. But I don't know if it is related.

I checked all fuses and replaced with the stock HU to see if it comes back. Nothing. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The lights for the Heater controls. The vent selector knob and stuff. That doesn't light up anymore. The individual lights work like the fan speed and rear defrost. Mute on the DSC light works.

I have no clue. Anyone with any ideas please help.

 

Sounds like a fuse to me. I installed my HU in my old Escort a few years ago and since I was in a rush to drive back from my lake house to school (2 hours) I didn't disconnect the battery. Ended up blowing the headlight fuse, got 1/2 back to school and it was almost dark, so I had to turn around, go back to the lake house, and install a new fuse. Not fun.

Sounds like a fuse or you've unplugged/cut something that you shouldn't have.
