Keep in mind this instal was done almost 3.5 years ago. So the technology/screen sizes, etc have changed a bit.

My Screen is the Alpine 6.5" I am using the Alpine Nav unit (STILL the best one on the market IMO) It then cost in excess of $2k...I think it is down to about $1500 now + a screen and lots of fabrication work of course.

Then of course you still need a DVD source to play movies, if you want to watch movies

Being 3.5 years old is making me hold off Mikey. I know I contacted you last year about your install, and I'm still waiting in hope that the 2005 products will bring a revised Navi.

Hopefully it'll support the XM Traffic information like in the new RL. I'm sure it's not far behind.

dont cutup the car:

use a pda + a gps reciever + some earphones

pda=ipaq5550
-mapopolis software
gps reciever=bluetooth ClipOn

i just use the voice prompts all good, distracting to be looking at a screen while driving. portable so works on the motorcycle as well as in a rental car. on the cycle it is wild hearing direcitons and having a mp3 running.
