I'll be getting some quotes this week in SoCal on installing a 7" Xenarc display. But, that's just for the dash work. All the wiring, etc. I'll be doing myself.

I believe that's the 6.5" on that Alpine.

Not sure on the touchscreen ruining the picture "quality". On the Xenarc I know the brightness was about 1/3 less on a monitor with a touchscreen vs. one without a touchscreen. Maybe that's what they mean by quality.

I also purchased the ultra-bright upgrade for the Xenarc.

Don't know, I just ordered it and waiting for it to arrive, and then will be finding an installer to put it in the dash. I'll be putting a PC in the spare tire area with my amps and running CoPilot or something (haven't decided yet on nav software).

Just my $.02 but that seem's like alot of trouble to go through. I mean installing the PC and everything. The Alpine unit is small (mine is under the passenger seat) and it works great. Plus a PC is not really designed to be getting bounced around in a car. Again...Just my $.02

I agree, except I want to be able to run AEM software. We'll see how the PC holds up to the shock. I am installing a more shock proof hard drive than a typical PC or laptop drive. It's the same one used in my current Phatbox which has been pretty solid now for 3 years in the trunk.

Gotcha...Makes sense to use the PC when you add in the AEM software. Good Luck!
