Default DCI install later?

Ok, I want to put a new head unit in my S, but i really want to be able to retain the dash controls. I saw the sticky on the DCI units, and am going to order one. My question is, can I install my new head unit now and put in my DCI later, or is it just better to do it concurrently with the installation of my head unit? Thanks guys

do it concurrently. the dci acts as a harness, so you dont have to splice your oem wires.

Unless you just absolutely can't wait, and you love splicing wires, i say wait. Particularly because you can get the harness with the DCI.

I added my DCI weeks after the head unit. No sweat. I used Scotchlok wire taps. Also, you have to tap the speed sensor to use the SCV, so the harness dosen't cover 100% of your connections anyhow. You can get them at PartsExpress.com or Radio Shack. Just my opinion. Don't run an audio signal through these; always crimp those. These are fine for a data signal like the DCI uses, though.
