Is the DCI IR emitter really hardly noticable?

Default Is the DCI IR emitter really hardly noticable?

I'm finally upgrading my stock sound. The HU I'm getting is Alpine 9833 and I know the IR sensor is up top. Looking at the pics on Lucid's web site, the IR emitter just looks out of place there. Do you get used to it or should I just not get it and reach for the controls?? Opinions??

Here is a pic of my install. I'm sure others will post theirs. Decide for yourself.

FoxMan, yours definitely looks more hidden than the one on Lucid's site. Considering the angle of your pic I'm sure it's not even noticable from regular sitting position. Nice!

mine looks about the same as Foxmans. i've posted it several places... it is barely noticable from the driving position.

You can do better than that, if youre willing to drill a tiny hole in an inconspicuous part of your radio door. It's in the Part 2 of the Instructions for my Audio Control. I'm sure you could do the same for the DCI
