Default DCI question w/Pioneer HU

I noticed the latest pioneer head units (I'm looking at a 550MP Premier) come with a little steering wheel mounted remote. I want to use Lucid's DCI with it but I'm not sure if I can since Lucid says the head unit needs a wireless IR remote to be compatible with the DCI. Any thoughts/solutions to this? Thanks.

I just bought the Premier 650 with Lucid's DCI. I'm installing it today so I hope it all works! I'll let you k3e2dhow it turns out.

highrev, how does that steering wheel control look and feel? Have you had a chance to mount it to the wheel yet? I've read some mixed reports about it...

I have the DCI so if the OEM controls work with the new receiver, I won't mount the remote thing.

Definetely want to hear how the DCI works...I've been trying to decide between Sony and Pioneer HU and the DCI will figure in.

Anyone else with a Pioneer head unit have any issues with using the DCI? Any input would be appreciated...

Good News! It's installed and works PERFECTLY. I don't use the pioneer remote at all, just the car controls. There's a little infared eye that you can put right under the deck, sticking out a little but you can't even see it. That's all you need to get the DCI to work.
