Are you talking about the wired DCI or the Infra-red DCI?

The wired DCI works with Sony HU's that have a 1/8" stereo jack in the back for the Sony wired remote option. If the MP80 has it (the MP30 and MP70 did) then the wired DCI will most likely work.

If there's no option jack for the Sony wired remote, you can only use the infra-red version of the DCI, which works on all but "Hi-R" style Sony HU. The Hi-R remote is used on newer head units with the fancy mpeg display screens, I think they use the remote to transfer the video files from your PC to the HU but I'm not sure.

The Hi-R remote HU's will NOT work with the DCI, at least not right now. If the MP80 uses a "regular" remote, then the DCI will probably work.

Anybody have a Hi-R remote they can send me for a week or two? I'll see if I can learn the remote codes and incorporate the Hi-R codes into a new DCI version.

Thank you very much modifry. The head unit I am talking about is the updated version of the MP70. I know the DCI unit worked With the MP70, but the new updated unit I was not to sure about. Could I also use the infra red unit with MP80? Is there any difference? How is installation? Thanks again!
