DCI and wiring harness quick question.
I am getting ready to install my new Alpine Head unit and another s2k'er told me that adding Lucid's DCI makes installation much easier because you dont have to cut up the OEM wire harness to connect the wires. He said that the Alpine unit hooks up to the DCI wire harness, which just snaps right onto the OEM harness- no cutting involved. MY QUESTION IS... Can I just buy Lucid's wire harness to make installation this easy? I do not need the dashboard functions of the DCI, I just want installation of my head unit to be easy. Thank you.
And I hope that made sense.

The special harness from Lucid has pins that allow you to connect to the dash controls. If you get the common Honda adapter harness you can connect to power and the factory speaker wiring without a problem. Those are available from CCity, Crutchfield, any car audio shop...
I got the Lucid adapter and DCI for my alpine. The wiring harness does snap on to the s2000's connector, but the other wires have to be soldered to the head unit and DCI. It still is a lot easier because you don't have to be cutting and soldering wires in the car. Also if you ever want to go back to stock, you can easily unplug and none of the original wiring will have been damaged.
The DCI is also key to an aftermarket headunit in the S, not only because it lets you use the dash controls, but the speed controlled volume feature is awesome. <3SCV

The Scosche HA08 wiring harness will fit the S2000. You can get one on-line at places like SoundDomain.com for around $5. Your local shops should also carry the HA08 or equivalent. It's the same harness for '89+ Accord, '99+ Civic, '02+ RSX, so they should be easy to find.
