I didn't read anywhere that you checked the x-over (Focals, right?), unless I was reading too fast.
Since you've already proven the wiring isn't bad, I would guess either the crossover for the front left component or the wiring somewhere in between there. Ask the shop if they soldered anything, it could just be a case of cold solder (bad solder connection). My guess is a fault crossover though if you're using components in the front... if not, it's a speaker wiring issue in the door.
more tracking done... it's definitely the midbass driver that's shorted. now, whether it's the driver gone bad (oh please, no!) or wiring that's shorted, i'm not sure.
dealing with the twins now, so i haven't pulled the driver just yet... going to do that after they eat.

problem found and solved...

TSB - 01-008 Date:MAR 02 Title:Body - Driver's Window Won't Go All The Way Down
so, now you're thinking, wtf?
i recently had this TSB performed under my HondaCare warranty...
apparently when the reassembled my door, they pinched both wires for my components, entirely crushing the midbass wire. after a little time, i'm guessing it finally vibrated enough and wore through the 'thinned' insulation.
short created, weird behavior ensues... PJK3 goes into a troubleshooting and posting frenzy....
all i'm thinking right now is... thank God it wasn't the Adcom. there's no way that i could convince the wife to pop for an amp anywhere near it's quality a week after bringing twins into the world.
edit: spelling

Holy Moly , what an adventure.
I just had that TSB Done myself. All ok so far.
I also had the roof latches repaired because mine were noisy. They seem like totally different new solid ones.
Just in the nick o' time. My warranty expires the end of Feb and there is too much snow out there to be taking it anywhere
