Default Decent drop in speakers?

Ok so I am tired of my speakers distorting when I try and turn my music up. I currently have a Alpine head unit with the DCI but the rest is stock. Whats a decent drop in option and is it also possible to replace the tweeter in the door with an aftermarket option or is that not needed?

I understand that the best way to go is to install and amp and run component speakers but I don't want the hassle of putting the amp in. I have done this on previous cars and I just don't want to deal with it this time around. I mainly listen to podcasts and some music so I don't need the absolute best in sound. Just wanting something that's better quality than stock.

You can get speakers systems that drop in with both the tweeters and mid woofers that will offer good sound volume and depth with your aftermarket HU. 6.5" speakers fit just fine and the tweeters can be 1/2" or so. You can get component speakers and install the crossovers in the doors with ease.

So you can run components without an amp? I always thought they needed one. Any suggestions on brand?

you can but you wouldn't be able to get the full potential of the speakers if you dont amp it. there's a lot of decent head units out there that can do the job but amplifying components is the way to go if you want to get the full effect of it. If you are concerned about the weight some people actually like the alpine ktp plug in. Ive never tried it and would want to try it maybe sometime.

Installing Components is not much harder than installing Coaxials. If your set comes with a crossover, you'll need to mount that somewhere - but there should be plenty of room in the door for it.

Depending on how much you want to spend, the Polk DB's are crazy popular and can be had for a hair over $100 on Amazon

They would run fine off of HU power or an Alpine Power Pack or something small.

i picked up some alpine type S speakers and they are very loud and crisp with only head unit power. Not bad for about 100 bucks
