Default Deck install putting on s2k cover.

I installed a deck today in my 07 with a Ipod interface. Everything went smoothly. Now for the life of me I can't get the head unit s2k cover to sit flush with the rest of the dash. I tried to take it back out and seat the bottom in first. There are no clips to secure it so I can put in the top. The top secures just fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm getting extremely frustrated. Pushing on this thing in the hot weather. Any tips?

You have to pop of the center console piece and get it out of the way while you put the door on; its is almost impossible to get the radio door in properly with it installed since it blocks the bottom of the door.

You ca search on radio door removal/installation here to find out details.

If you removed the center console and your having trouble, it means that the HU itself is sitting to low... its a very little bit. You may need to loosen the 4 screws that hold it in and push it up a little bit and while holding it screw it back down holding it up a little bit.

If the 2 things listed here are not the problem take a few pictures for me and post what HU you have. We'll get it figured out.

Ok thanks... Well, the deck was already installed professionally. I got the Ipod interface later and figured I could just do that myself. Saying that, it looked fine before with the same HU. Everything went real smooth but when putting it back on the bottom just doesn't seem to be clipping in. I'll post some pictures tomorrow of it.

You removed the HU to install the Ipod adapter correct? I bet it just needs to be adjusted up a little bit.

Yea, I'm about to go take pictures right now. I have a aftermarket deck the 7800mp. I took out the deck to install the pioneer ipod interface. I took the whole center piece out. Door and all. Gonna go take some pics right now.

Can you open the door and take another one or 2 pictures of both sides (inside) and one looking in straight on at the HU.

i bet the clips which are supposed to hold the door in place are missing or broken off or bent.

Check to be sure they are not bent downward. That happend to me and after I straightend them the door clips into place.

you need to unclip your center console and move it back so you can have room to get your door out and inspect it.

Remove the radio door, remove/lift center console, install radio door, install console.

Obviously check the clips on the radio bezel/door to make sure they are ok also.
