Default Digicam advice

Ok, I'm probably the only guy on earth without one, but I am looking for the best bang for buck digicam. Not looking to be a professional photographer by any means. Just want to take a lot of pics of my S and also take it along on trips. I hear that smaller isn't always better since they are hard to hold when taking a picture. I'd like to spend around $400+/-. I know it will be outdated by this time next year, but I have to start somewhere right??

Yo! Go with Sony P-5 399 or so...... 3.32 Mega Pix Excellent product. If you want bang for the buck, Cannon have some good ones. Olympus is great....try to have at least 3 mega pixel.

I second the P5. I've had my P5 for a year now and have had no trouble. I take it everywhere I want. High quality pics, decent battery life, and I upgraded to a 64mb memory stick. I can take 80+ pictures at 1024x768. (I think that's the right).

While more like $5xx right now, the Canon G2 is a great camera. There's a new version (G3) coming out, so you might keep tabs on the G2 prices maybe they'll dip into the $400's. I have a G2. By the way, one really handy feature for various automotive picture taking tasks is the fold out LCD screen (so you can get low-angle, high-angle, etc shots).

I just got the FujiFilm FinePix F601Z and it is awesome. Its pretty small and is 3.3 megapixel and can even take up to 6 megapixel shots. I would recommend it to everyone. I went with this camera after comparing it with the equivalent sony and cannon cameras.

Here is the link to it on the FujiFilm website.

FujiFilm FinePix F601Z

I got mine from CDW because my Dad gets a discount there through his business. It goes for $549 regularly on CDW and thats with same day delivery.
Here is that link:

You might can find it a little cheaper elsewhere, but I am not sure. I highly recommend it though. Watch the video on the FujiFilm sight. It does an excellent job explaining the camera. Oh, I went to many electronic shops around my area and I couldn't find anyone that carried it. Best Buy has it on their website but the Best Buy by my house told me they don't carry it in-store, only on the website.
