In Pinky's defense...He does connect them for his Plug-n-Play harnesses. Still have it checked.

The stock setup has only Illumination (red/blk) in the Connector A harness (hole#9), and there is no "Dim" wire in that harness (would be at position #19 for other Hondas). I can see why Pinky might not have included that in a "stock replacement" head unit harness. But I can also see how somebody buying a plug & play solution for their NEW stereo might want to have all of its features enabled, even if that required an extra wire to the fuse box.
I have seen wiring diagrams labeled with "+" for Illumination and "-" for Dim, but it was unclear whether that represented how current should be applied or what the lights did when x current was applied (e.g. going to ground vs. supplying 12V to make the display dim.)
