Default Disk Changer

Is there a disk changer that you can get that will allow you to use the dash controls?

If you install the factory one how does that affect the dash controls? What button will change the disk over to the next one and what button till change the song to the next?

Honda quoted me a changer for $399 plus wiring kit at $139 plus labor at about $90... I was hoping to use a different changer and wondering if there is one that can be wired into the dash controls. I love being able to use those and would hate not having that option...

That honda dealer was taking you for a RIDE. Hardtopguy had both changer and install kit on a group buy for a while, I think it was $200. You can get them used for $130-$170. I'd recommend NOT installing the cage that comes with the install kit (which requires cutting the carpet and drilling and takes up trunk space), but simply dropping the CD changer into the empty space in the tool tray where it is well protected and padded and hidden.

Yes you can use the dash controls with factory CD changer, no problem. However, if you would like to play CDR's with MP3s, get the neochanger from SSI america instead. It also fits into the empty space in the tool tray, it also uses the dash controls, and like the OEM changer it just takes (1) wire stuck into the head unit to install, for /power/ground/control/audio. Only $160 + $15 shipping for a fully warranteed refurb, more for brand new:

Hey, I just realized we both have catavatars!

LMK if you go with the Neochanger. I liked it, but after I did the alpine upgrade I sold it to Drewchie.
