Default Display dimming

First, I'm very new to electronics so excuse my ignorance. Several years ago, I had my dash converted to blue lcd and since then the brightness of the display, mostly at start-up, will fluctuate a small but noticeable degree. I am going to be upgrading the stereo soon and, since I'll be adding to the amount of work the electrical system has to do, I figured this would be a good time to address the problem. So here is my question, what is the best way to deal with the problem? From my limited knowledge, I'm guessing a capacitor is the way to go, BUT I don't know much, so please enlighten me!

Thanks

Are you adding a sub and amp, bc swapping the head unit and door speakers shouldn't pull anymore than stock.

I should have been more specific. This flicker occurs in the first minute or so after the car is already started and is greater than when my gauge cluster was stock.

i'm also stil looking for source of stock instrument panel flickering.
it's mostly pronounced with A/C and high lights ON.

at dealer's they said that the reason for this is weak battery.
so i recheked all battery cells and 3 of them need toping.
in addition "+" clamp was loose.

after few hundreds KM the issue is still here - so i'm going come back to dealer's.

It sounds like a weak battery or bad alternator (worst case). did you re check all you head unit connections for shorts and or unsecured connections?
