Default Do u have this problem too?

....behind our heads when we bump our loud sound systems with bass with our top up? Im talking about that big black platform behind our seats/heads. Atleast I think that is what's vibrating. It sounds very annoying and I cant bump my system loud when my top is up. But when my top is down, it sounds great! Anyone got a fix for this with our top up? I have the trunk enclosure with a 12-inch sub

do what I did, take it out. It sounds MUCH better and my whole systems is louder. I put down carpet where my amp is (old spare tire area) so if you look down there through the back window it is just my amp and some grey carpet

whoa!! I didnt know that it could come out! So I was right, that is whats vibrating! How do I take it out? Did it take long, was it difficult? And do we need this to help support our soft top when our top is down?

Its not too hard. There are these pin style things that hold it in. You have to push in the centers i think???? and pull the whole thing out. THere are like 5 of those and i think the rest clips in. I did this like 1.5years ago so I cant really remember. If you put the top up and climb on top of the center console and look at it you will see what i mean.

ok thanks, but do u have problems with ur top being supported when its down since this platform kind of supports it? Or it serves really no purpose?

the top is NOT supported by this thing. The top barely touches it actually. The point in this thing is to reduce road noise in the cabin. It has sound deadning material on the bottom. With out it the inside is slightly louder (i guess) but to me it made the system sound 500% better.

just be careful when it rains. You don't want water getting on your amp

How the hell would my amp get wet??? That plastic try has nothing to do with sealing water out of the car. My soft top and hard top keep the rain out...not this piece of plastic. If taking this plastic out made my car get wet inside then I must be really lucky cuz I have been driving with it in snow and rain for close to two years and my car has never been wet inside

we are talking about the plastic try under your soft top. The ONLY reason its there is for reducing road noise and for looks. It does not help keep out water. It is the same as any other interior plastic piece.
