Yes, the cable is in the back of the iDA-X305S and has plenty of cable length to run to the secret compartment.

 

I'm thinking of getting this deck, does the radio door close without interfering with the knob?

Also does the Modifry Alpine harness/DCI work with this? I have the 9887, can I unplug it and simply plug it into the iDA-X305S?

 

My door closes, but it will push the big front button in. I think if I shave the little crevice in the back of the door down slightly it will fit without interfering. Gonna give it a shot soon, I'll post results.

I use the Modifry Alpine harness/DCi with my iDA-X305S. The door doesn't hit my knob. Yes, the harness works. Yes, you just unplug and replug it in.

 

I can close the door in mine and it doesn't hit anything. Controlling the iPod is easy thru the giant knob.
