My feelings after a day of trying to figure it out. I honestly believed I wouldn't be able to find anyone else with this problem.

Try pulling out the bulb, turning it round 180* and re-installing it. LEDs can be fussy sometimes. Also, if that does not work, see if a standard bulb does the same thing.

The particular LEDs I have have a 'blank side' so turning them 180 would position the light so it's shining inside the housing.

Turning anything doesn't really make any sense given the way electricity works. I think there is something inside the button causing contact, after spraying it with CRC electric parts cleaner it got brighter. I don't know how to take that button out without ruining it.

But did you try it? Do that before pontificating about how electricity works. You also did not mention if you tried my other suggestion about the regular filament bulbs.

Lol, I gave up and went with the halogen ones. Worked perfect since. Might give it another try when I’m bored.
