Unfortunately for me, but maybe fortunate for you, I don't have a garage, nor the tools to make my own adapter rings for the doors.

Is there anyone on this board that is making them for a relatively cheap out of MDF, pre-drilled to attached to the door?

 

Borrow a jigsaw from a friend. I just made mines this week, I got some 1/2" MDF scrap from home depot and it took literally 5 minutes.

I've been reading that some people are using cutting board plastic instead of MDF... recommended?

 

pas2knut makes the speaker adapters.

you can make them out of plexiglass but it's pretty much more trouble than it's worth..
