I have MTX TX6001 pairs in my doors. I also have an MTX TA3404 amp under my seat, a Pioneer head unit and S-pods in the hoops. The install was done by a very reputable outfit that has worked on many S2000s. My problem... the 6.5" woofers have failed twice now in 15 months. They were replaced at no charge in December, and they have failed again just last week. The tweeters still work fine.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can the amp be causing this? are S2000's particularly hard on speakers? what Should I ask the installer to check? I see them tomorrow. Thanks.

 

Trying to get too much bass out of them, I imagine. They probably need to roll off the lower frequencies.

 

I never abused them at all. In fact, most of what I listen to is classical. Not a lot of bass there.
