Default Door speakers - needs some explainations

Hi guys,

It has been one week now since I started to find the informations I need regarding upgrade of the stock speakers. It's not clear at all, as some people says a 6.5" speaker will NOT fit (adapter is needed), some says the opposite..

To clarify that, could I raise some points :

1. What brand/model of speakers does fit without any other modification ? (woofer + tweeter) ?

2. if an adapter is needed, where could it be purchased (it looks like Lucid website is closed for several months)

3. Is there a stock crossover in the MY02+ model ?.. or is it better to install a kit (tweeter + woofer + crossover, like the Focal 165 A1 kit) ?

Your experience would be greatly appreciated. I would like to buy something I can just "plug in easely

cheers

Most 6.5" speakers will in fact fit. You will get better responses in the audio forum regarding specific models. With most speakers, you will use the stock speaker bracket and cut out the back to allow room for the speaker.

You will get better improvements with component speakers, there is no stock crossover.

Thanks for your advices. I will order that kit.

One more issue : a lot of people say that it's worthwile to connect those speakers with a small amp. Any recommandations ? Would a 2 channels be enough (1 channel per crossover.. then 2 double wires from the crossover to each speakers ?). I don't plan to install a subwoofer.

Cheers

You are correct; 2 channels (1 per crossover) is required, if you plan to use an amp. An amp will improve the sound coming from your speakers.

I spent some time in Lausanne this summer; very beautiful country!!!
