Default Dual Component Sets in Doors?

Hi,
was wondering if anyone has tried to install 2 sets of components in the doors or somewhere else in the front of the car (ie. kickpanels) w/ any success? I was considering installing an add'l set of speakers behind my seats like the Lucid panels, but I'm 6'-2" and my seat is allllll the way back against the panel. I don't particularly care for the S-pods, and I've seen other vehicles w/ multiple front speakers in the doors. Not sure how this would affect the soundstage...? fyi...I have a JL audio 450/4 amp (not installed yet) that I was going to use to run both sets of fronts. Thanks for any help you all can give!

I wouldnt see why you couldnt do it, however it wont get you the rear imaging like speakers behind you would

Perhaps do a set in the doors, and then something in a kick panel, (like how the Q forms work)

Thanks for the input. However, wouldn't the fact that I have to have my seat all the way back against the rear panels destroy any imaging I would gain from a rear set of speakers? Anyone over 6 ft have rear speakers...how do they sound? Thanks again all....appreciate the help-

A few people have made custom kick panels, but as far as I can remember they had to cut the metal of the car to make them fit properly. I'll try and dig up the pictures from it.

I am 6' and have my seat moved all the way back and I think that if you mount the speakers as low as possible you will be fine. The rear speakers are not meant to overpower the cabin anyway, they are basically to fill in the sounds to create a complete image.

DarkKnights car is a great example of speaker placement behind the seat...

Keep in mind DarkKnight did metal work to get decently deep speakers to fit, otherwise you have to go with super-shallow-coned speakers back there, like the KFC-1379. Not many of us have the knowledge to mess with the structure of our super-stiff-framed sportscar
