Default Rear Speakers

This question is mainly for Lucid but any other input would be appreciated....

Currently, I have the Kenwood 6.5" Excelon DualMag speakers in my doors with a aftermarket HU and 4 channel amp. Just for S&G's, I figured I'd put the factory MY 03 door speakers behind the seats where your kits would go. I just ran some speaker wires from the amp and laid the speakers in the holes and jammed the seats back against them.

Yeah, I know, crappy setup, but it is just temporary to see what kind of difference there would be!

So anyway, it made a pretty big difference and it got me thinking that I might be able to fit a set of the 6.5" Kenwood DualMag coax speakers back there since the magnets on those speakers are so small... I know the 5.25" speakers will work, but I figure for a few more bucks, if I can fit a 6.5" set back there, I might as well!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

You can have a look at mine at the next autoX or meet. I have the 6.5 dual mags in the rear. PAIN IN THE ASS to get them in! You'll need about a 1/2 inch spacer ring to get the depth necessary. Stick with the 5.25s for a much simpler install. No one around here had a 1/2 inch spacer in stock when I did mine, so I used a 1 inch spacer. One of these days I'll switch to 5.25's so I can regain some seat travel!
