Default which dvd/cd player hu?

Okay, so I am going to have a tv custom fit into my dash and get a hu that will support dvds/mp3s/cds whatever. I think that sony and pioneer make a unit that will play dvds, but I am not sure of their quality. The 2 I am seriously looking at ( I just need some more opinions) are the Kenwood and the Alpine 7996. (I don't know the model no. for the Kenwood, but I think there is only one that plays the dvds) I would rather go with the Alpine, but there is like a $350 difference between the two. The Kenwood, of course, being the cheaper. I was just wanting some opinions... thinking that maybe you guys might have the kenwood or the alpine. Also, what tv should I go with??? Should I stick with the same brand, or what? Any opinion or help is appreciated.

thanks- trish

pioneer also makes one for $599 MSRP.

as far as staying with the same brand, that is pointless; just get the best screen you can find.

I use my Kenwood MP919 for CD/FM/MP3, and my PS2 for Games and DVD.

I so not reccomend the Pioneer one b/c I have it in my car, and if you have the smallest scratch it will skip. Go with the Kenwood.

I will most likely go with alpine, but I did look at the kenwood one too. I can't wait to finally have it all finished and completed.
