Default Dynamating the car... how much should i buy?

hi guys, i'm currently looking to purchase sound deadener products.

I would like to install this on the doors, under the carpet in the cabin and in the trunk.

I would just like to know how many square feet of this stuff i should get!

Also, there are a lot of brans out there, and while i'm all about purchasing dynamat, it is really expensive. I was just wondering if the other stuff (the no name stuff) works or not.

I'm not trying to cheap out or anyting, but i want to make sure that there is a noticeable difference between the dynamat and the cheaper stuff before i through 200-300$ out the window on it.

I can get 100 square feet of B-Quiet for about 120$... while the dynamat is 100$ for 36 sq. feet...

What should i do?

Should i install any at all?

David

Check out this site:

The edead V1SE tested was the old version. They have a new butyl based one that is called V1SE2 out now.

I might try the Edead V1SE2. Pretty cheap and sounds good now that it's butyl based. Or maybe second skin stuff. More expensive but sounds like one of the best out there.

I've heard that the asphalt ones smell bad in hot weather. Dunno tho.

Darkkight1999 is having a groupbuy going on now. Decent prices, and a good guy . I think a Bulk Pack should pretty much cover it....or be pretty damn close.

Wow that groupbuy is a rip off! For the price they're charging for 1 bulk kit, (Dynamat XTREME BULK PAK - $171.00) i can almost get 2 bulk kits on ebay! (they got for 88-94$ each!)

Geez... that's not really a good deal... i guess nobody can beat ebay prices,

Bar none the best bang for the buck is Raamat. There are a few ranked iasca sq guys I've met at sound meets that use them in their own cars and quite frankly their systems are out of this world. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for a car with piss poor acoustics like our S2K.

Not to say Dynamat Extreme is a bad product but as with anythiing there's severe diminishing returns. Just trying to give other alternatives out there.

I have used 3 X-treme Bulk Packs and have used every inch of it. I'll let you know how it sounds when the system is complete.

Installed so far:
Focal 165 K2P (uv's), Focal Tn-52 tweeters in the stock location.

To be installed:

2- PPI a-404 Art series amps
1 PPI A-200 Art series amp for future rear fill
Audio Control DQXS Digital equalizer/crossover
1 JL-Audio 10W6V2 Sub in tool well
1 1Farad Streetwires Electolytic Cap
and the Alpine 9857 when it is released.

Thraak that sounds amazing because i don't know if i should put that stuff in the car. It's really expensive.

I was looking to do quietcar, it's a liquid audi deadner... people say that it is good and apparently you cna get away with 2 galons (each gallon is 59$) for the whole car.

Apparently you have enough to put 3 coat.

Anyways, let me know,

I bought 3 bulk packs from Woofersetc.com for $134 per pack. Plus a $29 total shipping charge for the three. Each box weighs 18 pounds so that wasn't bad. Also, no sales tax and it came from California, (2800 miles away) in 4 days.
