Default easiest ipod hookup without bells and whistles?

There are way to many options for getting an ipod to work with the factory deck....i'm looking for the easiest.

I don't care if the song title is displayed on the HU, i would like for the steering wheel controls to change tracks, but even that isn't necessary...

can anyone recomend a cable to go with??

thanks.

Before you start buying addons that only work with the OEM headunit, make sure you will be sticking with it. Otherwise, put the money towards an aftermarket deck.

Easiest to install and most versatile (iPod controlled by HU).....probably Dension IceLink

Cheapest (not controlled by HU)...........probably AUX input --> RCA --> earphone jack adapter

As far as I can see, the PAC audio input converter is $99. The Icelink is $199. IMO there are reliability issues with the Dension/Neo Ion (same unit) if you can't place the control unit in a cool place.

I'm waiting for HK to release the Drive+Play to curcuit City so I can see it in person. If only someone would make an "input only" solution for 2004-05 cars that only cost $39-49.

I had no problems with my Neo-Ion link. I stuck the control unit under the passenger side dash.

For 2004-05 cars, if you order a Neo, you get a Dension. The pre-04 cars were "true" Neos.
