Eclipse CD5000 drop down face clears radio door?
I've been eyeing the Eclipse head units CD5000/7000 as an upgrade to my stereo.
The other day I saw them in person and while playing with them noticed that the faceplate drops down quite far when opened to accept a CD/mem stick.
Can anyone verify that this line of HU fits the s2000 and clears the radio door?

Answering my own question in case anyone else decides they would like to purchase either head unit.
No one seemed to have attempted it, so I ended up getting the Eclipse CD5000 without knowing whether or not the drop down face would clear the radio door.
Getting right to the point. The Eclipse CD5000 head unit installed perfectly and the face barely clears the radio door. In fact, the face may be touching the radio door when fully extended.
I was nervous that it wouldn't work and I'd have to modify the radio door or change my head unit choice. Luckily that was all avoided.
I took some pictures but not sure I'm able to post them.
Planning to install more of my system this holiday weekend, time permitting.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Addendum:
After using it for a bit, it seems if I don't press down on the radio door when it lowers, sometimes the decks built in pressure mechanism does kick in and retracts the face.
That being said, all I have to do is push down a bit and it relieves the pressure and will work regularly. Good thing I don't plan to change CDs often.

Good Thread because i am wondering the same thing about a Kenwood X869. The motorized face drops down pretty far. Guess i wont know til i install it. and another, Did u use any DCI or similar parts to wire up your dashboard driver controls and do they all work correctly (i.e. fast, correct coresponding button, ect.)
Thx.
Thx.
I plan to add the DCI in the near future.
I was itching and wanted to start on my project during the holiday weekend.
Since the head unit may not have worked, I decided to wire that up first and test it plugged into stock components with a wire harness.
Now that I know it works I'll be doing the amp and speakers next and order the DCI soon.
