Default Electrical Gremlins - Ideas??

I've noticed a few electrical gremlins, such as...

- Car locks as I get into the car, after I've unlocked it with the remote. (time < 30 seconds)
- Overhead light doesn't work, unless permanently on - think that's fixed; move the switch from always on, to when door opens, to always off, back to when door opens. Worked this morning.
- Doesn't beep when key is in ignition
- No Warning for Lights On - had this issue several times at the Tomcatt Memorial Meet, in June.

Thoughts?

Haven't looked at the fuse box yet, but wanted to see if there was a common cause besides a blown fuse.
No electrical mods, other than a radio upgrade

Overhead light could also be corrosion on the contacts inside the light assy. Some light buffing with sandpaper and some di-electric grease would clear that up. This happened to me when I got caught in the rain with the top down.

I realize this question is from a few months ago, so you may not need the answer anymore, but the first issue is related to the door switch as well. The same thing has been happening to me lately and I figured out why. Hit the unlock button on the remote and don't open the door for 30 seconds. You'll notice the car locks itself. This is a security feature because they figure maybe your keys pressed the button in your pocket and they don't want you to walk away with your car unlocked. The same thing is happening here. You pushed the button on the remote and the car doesn't think you opened the door, because of the faulty door switch, so it times out and locks the car.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. A few thoughts...

I was able to wiggle the door switch and occasionally see the dome lights flicker. I had a new set of LED dome lights to install. So, after the installation, everything seems to work fine. The all the electrical gremlins seem to go away??

I have a mainenance appointment to get my car ready for a few late Autumn car events. I'll have the switch replaced then.

Now that I have had the LED lights in, everything is working as normal. Could it be the dome light that was the culrpit??

In any case, I have nice LED illumination, with all the alerts working!

Likely your dome light contacts, there is a DIY that has corrected many issues and by disturbing the assembly you may have gave it some new life.
