Electrical problem after trailer accident
Hey guys
I'm having an electrical problem after an accident this weekend. Basically the nut on the ball of my hitch came loose and my trailer was dragging behind my car on chains. In the process a couple wires on the trailer itself got the insulator stripped off and may have come into contact with each other. I think a fuse might have blown or something similar but I'm really not sure.
-The parking lights (at least in the rear) do not work.
-When I press the brakes they do work.
-When I turn on my headlights, the dash gauges do not auto dim nor do the radio lights come on.
-For a while when I turned on my blinker the radio backlight would flash on and off with the turn signal.
-The wires, and connections to the trailer power converter inside the trunk are fine.
-It was all working correctly before the accident.
I'm stumped... can anyone help diagnose this?

I would check all of the fuses first. Replace the blown fuses, and if you still have problems, un connect the the converter box for the trailer wires. It may have been damaged due to the shorted wires.
Good luck
Good luck
For a while it was a pretty cool "mod"
Turned out to be Fuse #23, which controls the tail lights, guage lights and radio lights when the head lights are turned on.
Quick question.. in the helms manual it has some of the fuses off to the side marked with a black dot instead of numbered. I'm guessing those are the spare fuses?
