Side markers not working
Hello -
I had a stereo system and trailer hitch wiring installed awhile ago and just realized that my side markers don't work now. I suspect the electrical work is the culprit, but I don't know where to start troubleshooting.
Neither side marker works at all. No fuses are blown and all my other lights work fine.
Any suggestions?

Starting with the radio, the orange wire in the harness is for dimming the radio when the lights are on. If that wire had grounded out while you had your lights on, it could have blown a fuse, or it could be causing problems.
The trailer wiring is most likely the problem. I would start by seeing if the trailer hitch actually outputs voltage for the turn signal. You can check it by turning them on and using a voltmeter to check the plug itself. If it doesn't then I would track down the were the connections were made for the turn signals and check to see nothing was grounded out there and proper connections where made.
Hosnestly though, it sounds like a blown fuse. If you didn't use a voltmeter to check the fuses the first time I would go back and check them again using one. And ALWAYS check fuses using the DC voltage and not continuity. Even if a fuse is blown, it can still read continuity and give you a false reading.
