Default Electronic gauges

I recently purchased a new cd player which as a slick looking blue glow.

The problem I have is it doesnt match that ugly orange glow the digital gauges have. Does anyone know a easy way to change the color? I really dont want to buy new gauges just want to change the glow to blue.

close the radio door :-)

Probably easier to change the dash color than the color of the HU display

what does changing the dash display involve? Dismatling the whole console and changing out an LED?

You might try these threads. It's not overly easy, but it's been done:

DJ Qube

DJ Qube's finished kit, for sale

Randy's old group buy

A lot of LED's, actually. Another member did it, LED by LED and, I believe, he purchased over 60 of them. He commented that it wasn't expensive to do it that way (about $65) but it took a bunch of time and wasn't for the unskilled.

I did my audio and climate control units. Such a pain in the ass! I don't even want to touch the dash

There is a kit available from one of the members. It's gotta be over $200. Most head units have the option to change colors for this very reason.

I have the alpine 9833 One great thing about it is that I can change the main buttons from Amber to Green, and change the rest of the display over hundreds of colors. I sometimes go with green and amber to match the display, or red and amber, orange and amber, you get the picture. When I want it to look slick I stick to the blues though.
