Default how do i get the radio code to make stereo work?

I just bought a 2000 S2000 that has a 6 disk cd changer.... it is asking for the code. car is salvage title, so i don't have the manual, etc......

will the dealership be able to provide the code (for free)?

thanks

you have to pull the radio and get the serial number off of it. The serial number will correspond to a code the dealer should be able to look up for you. If your local dealer won't do it for free. Any of the guys on here that work for Honda should be able to get it for you.

my experience is that if you can find the original dealer who sold the car, they can pull the code by VIN number. (assuming the radio is what shipped in the car.)

best luck

I just went through the same trouble tonight after disconnecting the battery to do something to my stereo. I plugged the battery back in and the stereo asked for a code before it would put out. The manual didn't help any. BTW, I have a 2005, all stock. For some reason, I walked by my open trunk and noticed a sticker on the inside center of the trunk lid with 4 digits on it. I decided to give it a shot and it worked. Go figure. Hope you have a magic sticker in your trunk as well!
