electronics problem?
hello everyone...its been about 2 weeks ago since we had a bad storm in Edmonton AB and the same day i changed stereo at my car (pioneer mp3,ipod etc player)...the thing is that since that day every time i turn of my car and turn it back on everything resets on the dash board, i mean i set it to show me the Khm not miles and i am fixing the time but after i shut down the car and remove the key...turn it back on everything is on miles and the time is 1:00 again :PPP anyone have any idea why is this happening?
Honestly..
That depends on how electronically savvy you are...lol
If you don't feel comfortable with working on the electronics, I would go back... But, then, I have a hard time trusting people that messed up a job the first time around...

so what should i do?should i go back to the guys that put the stereo in?
As someone else said, if those asshats can't figure out how to do a simple install, then they'll be even worse at troubleshooting a model-specific electrical problem. Seriously though, I dunno why you wouldn't just try it yourself. There are really thorough how-to guides posted on s2ki that'll walk you through a deck install and ipod cable routing etc. I just installed a deck + ipod cable into my car a week and a half ago. It took me about an hour and a half, which is probably less time that you'd have to wait for them to do it. This is also the first time I've worked on an S2000...

Well I can tell you this... I wouldn't go back to that shop... If they can't install a HU in your car they pretty much suck. A HU install for a guy that knows what he's doing might take 30 minutes... 45 if they are routing the iPod wire. There is no reason to do anything but plug in the harness... Its pretty crazy that your dash is resetting.
