If I was you I would get yourself a phillips head screwdriver and pop the radio door off remove the 4 screws that hold the HU in and pull it out and take a picture of it and post it up here. That will tell us if they did anything crazy pretty fast. The harness from the new HU should be connected to the proper wiring harness for a plug and play install. If you don't have that then your in trouble.

Hmm...I wonder if they didn't have the proper plug'n'play harness (didn't know it's a generic honda plug) and maybe did some splicing and dicing behind the HU...in the process, dicing up the constant +12 to the dash...

Scary...

Have you called or gone by JB's to see if they would honor the install and the difficulties you're having? If you bought the equipment there and also paid for an install you might want to let them know there is a problem. Ask for the owner/manager and advise them of the situation in a controlled manner.

We have all had bad days and they should be given the opportunity to make it right. Don't jump to the conclusion that they won't fix it without even asking. It might be an honest mistake and an easy fix for them.

If you start pulling things apart I pretty much guarantee they won't cover their work....even with a receipt. If they blow you off then tell all here and we'll try and get you going along with spreading the word about their work.

That might not be a bad idea... but I would call and see what they say. But they would never know you opened it up.... You could see pretty quick if they didn't use a harness. It would say a lot about there work. Even if they ran out and had none instock you can get them almost anywhere and they should have just ran to get one. But having the customer wait a little extra then hacking the wiring harness... if in fact they did anything like that. They may not have done anything wrong.

I would still check it out myself first.

Sounds like you might want to find a different shop to do the work on your car
