Can anyone explain to me the steps required to get a online connection between the emanage ultimate and a laptop. I have tried everything, multiple support tool versions, reinstallations, and settings. I have yet to get the emanage USB connection light to blink. I have an ultimate with a long plug and play harness that came out of the previous owners ap2 (i have ap1). I didn't mess with any of the jumpers, they should be set already. Just plugged it in to the ecu harness, installed the software, connected the usb to usb cable with the key in the OFF position, turned the key to ON, and double-clicked the support tool software (currently version 2.16).

I'm running Windows XP 32-bit and at first the emanage2 in the device manager came up as missing a driver, but I reinstalled the driver by selecting it from the program files folder. Nothing comes up in error state, just stays in offline mode.

Do you think it is a hardware problem (emanage wiring, jumpers), or software like driver or support tool problems.

Try calling Greddy. That would be the only advice I could give you. If possible, you can also try another laptop.
