Default Escort Hardwire install - inline power switch?

Hey - I plan on installing my 8500 x50 sometime this week, i was wondering how i'd go about installing switch somewhere inline with the smartcord in order to shut it off. Ideally this switch would be hidden somewhere so if iw ere to get pulled over and a cop saw my smartcord box (led/mute button thing), i could claim that it doesn't have power to it. how would i go about doing this?

thanks for your help.

The 8500 smartcord is two wires molded together. One of the wires has a fuse inline with it, and the other does not. I would interrupt the ground wire (non-fused) wire through one of these toggle switches.
