Default EU Start Button, Radio, and A/C Controls & DIY Jumper Harness

I was always annoyed that the Start Button was never on the same side as the Ignition and Key. So I made a plug and play harness that would make the European controls work on the US S2000.

Along with the European radio and a/c controls, I bought an additional wiring harness and US radio, start, and a/c controls so that I would still have the option of going back to stock in the event I change my mind.

I measured that the harness would have to be about 22 inches long to have it plugged in with some wiggle room to position the harness so that everything fits in.

I used a Dremel to cut around the female connectors of the controls, unsoldered the pins, and Dremel the motherboards to use as a support backing on the female connector. (I forgot to take a picture of the radio female connector)

Then I would remove the pins from the connectors and strip a wire from the spare harness and bind it to the connector.

Then I would use 22-18 Gauge Heat-Shrink Solder-Loaded Crimp-On Butt Connectors to connect the pins and measured wire on the harness.

Then I the female ends into the male connectors in my dash and after they were secured pinned in the wiring harness on the corresponding pins.

After testing that the harness worked I taped everything up in electrical tape and covered it in a wire loom.

Then I positioned everything so that it made the cluster bezel fit in flush and resembled everything back together.

Looks very nice.

I always thought the European cars had the same dash we have in North America -- both are left-hand-drive arrangements.

UK used to be EU, but they still have the RHD arrangement.
