Extra Orange Wire on Modifry Harness
So I've got everything all pre-wired up with my harness and Modifry DCI to my Kenwood head unit.
But there's one extra orange wire off of the Modifry that I don't have anything to connect to. It's NOT the striped one (Illumination), but solid orange. What is this for? Anything I need?
Thanks!
EDIT: By the way, where's the best place to mount the DCI so I can get to the dip switches later? Double-sided tape on the inside of the area behind the CD player? Maybe some velcro?

Funny you should ask, as I was wondering the same thing when soldering mine together earlier this afternoon.
The shop manual seems to indicate that the Modifry orange/white wire connects to the dash brightness control pin. Since most (all?) aftermarket HUs only have the normal day/night triggered by the lights on/off wire (the solid orange one on the Modifry connector marked "Illumination"), the brightness wire doesn't do you any good. Just insulate the end and leave it disconnected, you don't need it for anything.

Wait, so I connected the dimmer for the HU to the Orange/White wire... are you saying that I should have connected it to the solid Orange wire for it to work properly when I turn on the headlights? I'm not sure that I fully understand the difference between what the two orange wires do from the note above.
I guess it's not that big of a deal since it'll be hidden 99% of the time, but that's very strange.

Orange: Dimmer > the voltage will change on the wire and the lower the voltage the less bright the bulb will be
ORG/WHT: Illumination: On/Off 12v or not. Supplies 12v when the parking lights are turned on.
Some cars/radios will not have both of these wires.

Thanks for the info!
WHy would it supply 12v when the parking lights are on? That's strange... I can't figure what that would do.
Looks like I should have wired it to the Orange one, not the striped one, but that's what I get for matching wires. I forgot that they have the info written on the wires themselves very tiny though.
But my radio remains covered, so I'm not digging in there just for that!
Thanks again for letting me know!!
