As suggested by one of the replies, I am sharing this on Electronics board:

anyone know if this works for the sf bay area system? i was about to get one for my prelude, and then when i got the s2k i thought.... hmmm, don't want to leave that on the windshield very often.
it appears to be the same transponder.

I share my EZ Pass with my daily driver, an MR2. On the MR2, the EZ Pass is velcroed to the windsheld. When I use the same pass on the S, I hand hold the EZ Pass to the windshield. I have received several summons but only with the S and only on Garden State Parkway. Of course, I always contest the summons and so far they all have been dismissed. But still it's a hassle to respond to the summons so I have stopped using EZ Pass on the S. I rarely drive the S to work, except for this week when the weather is gorgeous here in NJ.
For not paying the toll. For whatever reason, the EZ Pass is not registering. The summons arrive with a blurry picture of the S's rear end. And in a couple of pics you can actually see me holding the EZ Pass up at the windshield. So I just contest the summons by filling in my EZ Pass info.

I've got a buddy with a 98 Corvette and the windshield has some metallic content in it. I am assuming the metallic content is in the windshield lamination. His EZ Pass transmitter doesn't work when mounted on the inside of the windshield, either. Does anybody know whether the S2K has the same or similar metallic content? If so, this may be causing the problem. BTW he stuck his transmitter behind the plastic cover on the front bumper where license should be and it works fine. Maybe you can affix it somehow to the inside of the S2K bumper.
mister_two, you can also consider getting another transponder (I got two w/o any extra charge, I believe). Just with anything, there may be variability in qualities of tags.
Also, my very first tag died after about 4 years of use - EZ Pass customer service told me that there is a battery inside which eventually died (not sure if it is true). If that's true, a weakening battery can reduce the strength of the EZ-Pass signal, I suppose.
