Please jump up to my post (where I reference Soundgate). You need an adapter to have an aux input. It will replace the factory CD changer if you already have one (which most people don't).

If your car is an '03 or older, you'll need a different part. I think that's what happened to Kent-K...the same happened to me earlier.

don't worry, i probably woulda done the same thing as you did if i hadn't seen this. btw, did you get the dension ice link? i think it's $199 at best buy; if you got the same thing from circuit city for $50 less, i'm gonna see if best buy will price match (have a few gift certs to use up).
i'm thinking about returning everything and getting the dension link. there's no best buy in hawaii so i cant see the product in person. i really need to cuz i need to verify the plug configurations. the dension website shows an s2000 in the pictures.

sorry, but i'm not a real electronics guy. i just love to drive. heck alot of the time the only music in my s is the motor. no stereo playing at all.

The adapter you bought from circiut city won't work in the 04/05 S2000's. I tried it last weekend. It has the same plug as the 00-03's. They changed it in 04. I am buying a PIE adapter, you can get them online for $70, and it will give you aux in. I am going to wire mine to my glove box, and then also bought a power adapter for the ipod (off of ebay for like $5). I plan to hard wire that to where the accessory power is, and run that into the glove box too.

The only thing you don't get is control over the songs, you just audio.

that's what i'm coming to realize. my friend who seems to be pretty knowledgeable about audio stuff says to wait a couple of months for the new PIE unit, which when available, should do everything (charge, scroll, playlists, etc.).maybe i'll just wait.

Hey Kent,

I was just down at Circuit city looking at the Harmon Kardon Drive+Play (if you see the open box, you'll know why). Its FM modulated, but it does have a line out if someone makes a simple line in adaptor for the 04-05 cars. My only real reservation (besides sound quality) is where to put the display screen.

As I was leaving I saw the Metra kit and thought Hmmmmm might work. I even called them to ask specifically if it worked for the newer cars and the tech guy says they do.
