Default Feedback issues

Ok guys i need some help. Over the long weekend i finished up the install on my alpine upgrades. Previously i had just been running a set of type R components, modifry DCI, alpine 9856 HU, alpine PDX 4.1 and an direct ipod hook up.

I put in roll hood speakers, 6.5 alpine Type Rs, and now im getting background feedback (does not modulate with the volume). Ive checked all the connections and my ground and they all checked out ok. I have upgraded RCAs and 16 gauge speaker wire with secure clamps on both ends (speaker and plug adapters on the amp).

I spent most of yesterday trying to diagnose the problem and have realized the feedback isnt just in my rears, its in the previous ok components. Any advice or ideas where I could have gone wrong???

I'm sure I'll get criticized for this, but I've never installed component speakers in any of my cars without getting engine/alternator noise. I assume that's what you're talking about...a whine that increases in pitch/volume with the speed of the engine?

I checked grounds, installed in-line RCA filters (but never tried in-line on the speaker wire...hmmm) but never had success in the end.

I'm lots of help eh Perhaps trying in-line filters on the speakers themselves might correct this.

Did you run the speaker wires/rca's near your power wire at all?

yes but i had previously run my component wire along it as well without a problem. I do have the RCAs for the rear speakers run across the power wire ....

Can you post all of the things that have changed since you didn't have the problem? Did you just run rear RCAs to the amp/hu, add rear speakers, and run speaker wires for the rear speakers?
