Default Fried my amp?

I think I fried my amp but wanted to check with you guys. My Soundstream Van Gogh 400.2 decided not to power up after I was trying to solve my noise problem. Stupid me, I didn't remove the negative battery cable while working on the wiring. At the amp terminals, it is seeing 12V for power, ground is good, and the remove turn on lead is also showing 12V when I turn on the stereo. However, as soon as I turn on the stereo the power lead goes down to 2V. The amp doesn't turn on. There is no internal fuse and all the LED indicator lights do not come on either. The manual states to send it for repair if no LED indicator lights come on. I think I fried it. Anything else I could check?

2v may not be enough to even light the LEDs, so I wouldn't worry about
the amp until you figure out why you're only seeing 2v under load.
I assume you have a fuse at the battery end of the wiring - I'd try replacing
that, or better still checking voltage on either side of the fuse when you are
only seeing 2v at the amp.

You were right. The fuse was bad even though I could measure 12V across it but when drawing power through it, it went down to 2V. Thanks!

2v isnt enough to power the amp or light the led's. I would also recommend you check the lead and fuse powering the amp. Given what's happening it sounds like you have a short somewhere in the system.... it very well could be a short in the amp itself.

oh and double check the ground from the amp to the car.
