Thumbs up Amp power wire fuse location?

I was re-doing my wires and just realized that the fuse for the power wire is not near the battery and more next to the amp?

Question is? Does it matter where the fuse is located, i know most people have it next to the battery.

Thanks!

You need to have a fuse or circuit breaker as close to your battery positive terminal as possible for safety. If the battery wire were to short out from a sharp object, just wear through the insulation and ground out or get pinched in an accident you would have a major melt down of your car. This fuse should be larger than what is required for your amp. If your amp takes a 40 then use a 60. Larger won't hurt either as this is only to protect your car from melt down. It does nothing to protect your amp. That's what the one closer to the amp or built in to the amp is for.

If it was me I would disconnect the lead from the battery to your amp immediately until this can be done....like tonight!!!
