Default funk in the trunk

i threw in my friend's subwoofer in my trunk this weekend to see how the car would sound with some more bass. Sounds horrible! The sub sounded louder outside the car than in the cabin. My goal is to add some bass to my car without looking like some highschool kid wanting the entire block to hear what he's playing. Has anyone found a way to get the sound from the trunk to the cabin? I think the wall between the seats and the trunk is too thick and is blocking most of the sound.

There's not much you can do with the top down. You could try "venting" the plastic panels behind the seats and remove the insulation back there; might help a bit.

If you remove the plastic well that the top folds down into, you will get excellent bass response when the top is up.

This isn't a Lexus, and the convertible design is poor at both keeping noise out, and keeping the bass in. If you can hear the bass with the top down, chances are so can the rest of the neighborhood...

Best of luck to you!

You know what? I'm over it. I don't care anymore if the rest of the block has to listen to bob dylan coming from my car. Its much too much work to care about others.

3 twelves? Wow. Do you have any trunk space left?

My original objective was to add bass without disturbing the neighbors, to keep most of the sound in the car. When i threw the sub in last week, the bass volume sounded the same standing 10 ft from the car compared to sitting in the car. I'll try removing some panels to try to fix this. Thanks.
