Default reinforced trunk?

my sub causes a wierd rattle. With the help of some others I found the rattle to be my trunk lid itself...it actually bends upwards in the center (where my sub is).

My questions are:

1. how bad is this (long term effect on my trunk)
2. how can i fix it (without adding too much weight to the car or reducing too much weight in my wallet)

Thanks.

dynamat, dynamat, dynamat. that is the only thing that will stop the rattles. it is relatively cheap and you can buy it at best buy. good luck

I think that the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) in the sealed trunk is forcing the trunk open. I bet if you remove the cover over the spare and just to the left will help. This should let the pressure come through the panels behind your seats. I think it is worth testing?
