I'm looking to buy a used GTech if I could find one.
I know it's pretty accurate, might show a bit faster time than on drag track but I just want to have some basic idea how fast my car can run.
Any comment?

Why not buy a new one????? They are not that expensive.
BTW, i took mine to the dragstrrip with me the 3 times i went with the stook.
All runs on the gtech were within +or- 0.1. A lot of runs were dead on too.
If the gtech is set up properly, it is very accurate on our cars.
The innaccuracy is on cars that have soft suspension and the front end lifts during take-off. Since the gtech measures the G force, when the front end lifts it interprets that as accelleration while you aren't going anywhere at all. This is why you get wacko times on some cars.
On our cars however its damn accurate if set up properly according to the instructions which are also simple.

is because some of my friends are selling their and the price is as low as 70 USD. well, is there anything I need to check when buying a used GTech? or I might just buy a new one.

I've heard that the gtechpro cord is pretty short and rather stiff.. so much so that the spring force produced by the coiled cord tend to knock the unit off level. Did you find this to be the case? I know the "cigarette lighter" on the stook is pretty far away from the windshield where I presume the suction cups would work best.. is it easy to mount anywhere else?

Why don't you get a cigarette extension cord.. They sell them at Radio Shack or any other electronic store.
As to the set up ..do you need to set the weight of the vehicle with you IN IT?

Yes guys, an externsion cord is A MUST. The cord will be in your way otherwise and it won't stick on properly.
Make sure you buy an extension cord with a small tim that way when you plug it in, it won't bother your shifting. From the plug on you go right and squeeze the wire between the console and the seat completely out of site.
ENZYME. Launching all depends on asphalt condition and temperature. Other factors such as tire pressure are relevant as well. The key is to launch as to have enough wheelspin to not bog yet not crazy wheelspin.
It ranges from 5500rpm to 7500 RPM
