Default Hardwiring Radar Detector

I am hardwired for a V1 detector (previous owner). I just got a Beltronics 955, and it doesnt work with the V1 wiring....does anyone know what is different between the 2? It would be sweet to use that...and i guess i was under the assumption that i could, but apparently its different?

Any ideas?

as long as there is no voltage regulator built into the wiring for the V1, then you could just switch the plugs... cut off the existing plug, then add a telephone style plug. A pack of plugs and a crimp tool from Home Depot will run you less than $10.

Ummm I hope you didnt' plug the 955 into that... the ground and power are reversed in the plug and you possibly could have blown a resistor.

Will - The beltronics has the same plug as the V1, so if i need to make any changes, sounds like its just wiring.

imdarkrider - I did plug it to that.. I dont see how it would blow a resistor as resistors dont care about polarity? However.....if the ground and power are reversed...seems like an easy enough fix.
