Default Passport 8500 Cord

Is there a different plug in cord for the Passport 8500 that is long and flat like the cords provided with the Valentine V1 that you can buy to work with the S2000. Since there is not a cigarette lighter in our 05, the distance is too far for the coiled cord that came with the Passport 8500. We do not want to hard wire the detector ither. Please let me know where you can find a longer cord to work.

plug this into your 12V outlet, hide the cord and run the socket up to the front. plug the 8500 into the extention plug.

It's your call, but running a plug extender wire (either loose or installed, as in the two previous replies) is at least as much trouble as hard-wiring the 8500 onto the terminals down by the driver's left knee. The S2000-specific... sticky thread above includes a how-to. HPH

running a dedicated hardwire is far easier than either of the two options Pete and i have described.

honestly? from start to finish, i could probably realistically run a hardwire in 15 minutes or less. and i readily admit i work a little slower compared to others.
