Default Has anyone installed a Clarion DXZ945MP yet?

I am looking into buying one and Crutchfield says I need to fabricate a mounting bracket for it. Just wondering if anyone has done so already and can explain what is involved. Will the standard Honda adaptor kit work with this receiver? Appreciate any help/advice.

Dan....most of us here use Alpine, however are still fond of Clarion. I checked out the specs for you, and on paper, it looks like a fantastic headunit. Clarion quality is up there as well, so I wouldnt worry about it. Most of us use Alpine for quality, durability, and most of all, ease of use.

I'm not worried about the actual headunit. What I am trying to figure out is what I need to fabricate or cut in order to get the damn thing to fit. Crutchfield is telling me that it's not a standard fit on an s2000. But couldn't give me anymore details.

BTW, do you guys just bascially use a 98 and up Honda adaptor? That was what I was told was needed for my car.

Yes....98 and up....not 1997, not 2003, 98.

And no, you dont need any mounting kit. I checked my headunit, and they said it need a mounting kit, (which it doesnt).....so its BS. Are you going to keep your dash controls???
