Default need help on alpine deck install

hiya fellas,

quick question. did you guys use the brackets off the stock deck and screw those onto the alpine? because the screw holes arent lining up for me, off slightly, enough not to allow the screws to go in. alpine 7894. the little metal nub thingy wont allow the bracket to slide enough to allow the screw holes to line up.

or did you guys use the metal box thingy that the deck can snap into?

thanks.

mike

I installed the 9813 and the brackets were just about a perfect fit. If I remember correctly the brackets are specific for Left and Right.

I don't think you can use the sleeve that came with the HU.

When I installed my 7894 in March I used the brackets. I still have the sleeve in the box the 7894 came in with the OEM radio fiting inside it.

I removed the nub to get them to line up right. I just pounded it flat with a large hammer.

When I installed the Alpine 9815, I just filed down the nub on the metal brackets and they fit perfectly.
